Many people often ask what the big deal is with WordPress and “why should I choose WordPress” for my website? Well
When people are wondering why they should choose WordPress, there are several concerns they are thinking about. Plugins, themes, the WordPress interface, and managing their website are some of those concerns.
While I am not going to rail against any other platform, I’ll give you the some of the best reasons to choose WordPress as the platform for your website.

A Large Community of Developers Who Support WordPress
Did you read that part where I mentioned it powers 25% of the world’s websites? That in and of itself is a pretty good reason. Many individuals and companies are choosing WordPress to power their websites because of the large community of developers that support it. It’s an open source platform with countless options and the ability to be extended in many ways.
Countless Themes and Plugins to Choose from
I mentioned countless options, and by that I meant a large theme and plugin library, plus a lot of developers who can provide custom solutions for WordPress (Laverty Creative included). Because of this, the possibilities for your website are endless. While hiring a developer to build a site for you would be the best option, you also have the ability to customize a website yourself with the options available to you.
Regular Updates and Numerous Security Options
Now there are some caveats to this, but for the most part themes, plugins, and WordPress core are updated on a regular basis. The caveats come down to themes and plugins. It really depends on the theme or plugin you choose to use. Sometimes they may not be as well supported as other options. The Genesis framework in particular is updated fairly regularly, but other themes that you might find elsewhere may not get updated regularly (if ever!). So if regular updates is something you want for the theme you choose, be sure to look at the most popular and supported solutions.
Security has come a long way with WordPress. Thanks to a slew of plugin and WordPress hosting options that are made to keep your WordPress website secure. I use WordFence security for all of my websites, and it has some great options for thwarting off potential hackers. Same goes for WordPress hosting options like WP Engine and Flywheel. They specialize in hosting WordPress websites so their security is pretty solid, giving you peace of mind for your website.
What Does All This Mean?
It means that WordPress is a top-notch platform for your website. With all of the options, large support community, and solid security there is no reason not to choose WordPress.
