As you’ll notice, I regularly use affiliate links on my website. I do this not only to highlight services I have used so that others can learn about, and possibly use them too. I also do it to monetize my website.
Using affiliate links is a great way to make money through your website without really having to do anything other than link to a great product or service you use. By signing up for an affiliate program of a product or service that you know well and enjoy, you can then create content about that product or service and use affiliate links to potentially make some additional money on the side.
What are some of the best ways to use affiliate links? Let’s go over the options and areas where you can utilize these on your website.
Blog Posts
I mentioned this already, but blog posts are the one of the best ways to utilize affiliate links. If there is a product or service you are already using and you know enough about that product or service, then you should also be blogging about using it. In doing so you give yourself the opportunity to sign up for their affiliate program and link to it from your blog posts where you make reference to those products or services you enjoy.
In short, blog about services and products you enjoy and use affiliate links (if they have affiliate programs) in order to potentially make some money promoting them.
Dedicated Landing Pages
Landing pages are another great way to highlight services and/or products you use and use their affiliate links. Say you’re a web designer and there are hosting platforms you utilize on a regular basis when setting up client websites. This is a perfect opportunity to utilize a dedicated landing page in order to promote those web hosts. Just by giving a brief description of each and what they offer, an image, and an affiliate link, you have yourself a nice dedicated page to helping make some extra money.
You could also set up a resources page that is dedicated to all of your affiliate links. You can separate them into different categories and highlight them accordingly. There are many websites out there with resources pages used specifically for this purpose.
With email you can highlight services and/or products right within the email, or provide links to your latest posts that include affiliate links in them. Email also ensures that people receive updates from your website will definitely see your affiliate links. This is a great way to reach a lot of people instantly, and you could see an immediate impact on commissions earned from affiliate links.
Social Media
Social media is another way to reach a lot of people instantly. When you have a decent following on Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest, etc. then you will have a lot of people who regularly see the content you post. Briefly highlighting a service and providing an affiliate link in your posts is a sure way to get a few clicks and potentially some purchases through your link.
So Make it Happen
Now that you know some of the best ways to use affiliate links and what they’re for, it’s time to make it happen. Pick out some services and/or products that you’ve enjoyed and could benefit your readers, clients, etc. Then start blogging, emailing, posting to social media, and create some landing pages to highlight them.
